2. Wat Phra Kaew

               This is located in the same area as the Grand Palace and is an important temple within the Grand Palace. It houses the sacred Phra Ubosot, which enshrines the Emerald Buddha, regarded by the Thai people as a revered and auspicious symbol. Nearby are three thrones arranged in a row, adorned with sculptures of Giant and Garuda, beautifying the building, and making it unique. The balconies are surrounded by mural paintings that depict Buddhist stories, created by highly skilled artists in ancient times. In some parts, photography is allowed, but in others, it is prohibited. Therefore, it’s essential to observe and abide by the various rules and prohibitions indicated by signs. If you’ve visited other temples and seen resident monks, don’t be surprised to learn that this temple is unique in Thailand, as you will not see any monk in the temple.

3. Wat Pho

Located at the rear of the Grand Palace. Inside the temple, there is a large, exquisite golden reclining Buddha statue, a popular pilgrimage site for tourists. Surrounding the temple’s courtyard are various-sized stupas, and the main pagoda itself has a unique and distinctive art style, decorated with colorful ceramic tile fragments, making it incredibly beautiful. 4. Wat Arun

We continued our journey to Wat Arun. From this side, we looked across the river and could see the grand stupa of Wat Arun shining in the middle of the sun. We could easily take a boat across the Chao Phraya River to get there. Wat Arun is located on the old historic side of Bangkok before it moved to the current side. It used to be the temple for the old royal palace, located nearby. You will see a pair of giants standing as guardians at the entrance, and there’s a legend that Thai people have passed down saying that the giants of Wat Arun and the giants of Wat Pho (Chinese dolls) are a matching pair. At Wat Arun, there is a central pagoda surrounded by smaller pagodas, all decorated with ancient ceramic tiles that were salvaged from shipwrecks in the Chao Phraya River in the past. This temple is known for its fragrant Thai tea ice cream that is shaped in patterns resembling ceramic tile designs. Not only is it visually appealing, but it also tastes delicious and has a delightful aroma. Anyone who has a chance to visit must not miss the opportunity to taste it.                The final destination of the day.
